A discussion on Human Rights in the UK, Europe and around the world.
Bromley Town Church, 2 Ethelbert Road, BR1 1JA
Attendance is free
We constantly hear about appalling abuses of Human Rights around the world. Even here in the UK there are some cases that challenge our assumptions about what is a human right.
Bob Neill, MP for Bromley and Chislehurst, will talk about the law surrounding Human Rights in the UK, in Europe and the rest of the world. He will highlight some important recent cases, how we might find out more about them and how we can get involved in helping to shine a light on human rights abuse.
Bob has served on the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe’s Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee and on the Committee which appoints judges to the European Court of Human Rights. He was involved in the Bright Blue project to strengthen human rights and tackle discrimination in the UK and currently chairs Parliament’s Justice Select Committee.
