This morning Bob Neill looked in at the Mottingham Community and Learning Shop for a scam awareness event. Although local police forces are doing a fantastic job in curbing the large majority of scams in our area, it can never hurt to be aware and in the know on such issues.
he morning involved a brief presentation on how to avoid becoming a victim to some of the most common scams, and a member of the Safer Neighbourhood Team was on hand to answer any questions the group had. All in all, the morning was great in highlighting what we can all do to help one another from falling prey to scams, and was an ideal opportunity to discuss ideas socially over a cup of tea.
The Mottingham Community and Learning Shop - whose brilliant voluntary staff were recently awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service – is a very regular venue for similar local drop-in sessions and events.
