One of Bromley’s best restaurants, Tamasha on Widmore Road, has again been accepted to take part in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country.
Now in its tenth year, the Tiffin Cup aims to not only applaud the quality of South Asian food in Britain but to also raise much needed money for charity. This year the competition is in aid of ‘World Vision’, a fantastic international aid and children’s charity that responds to emergencies around the world. You can find out more about their work through the following link:

Formed in 2006, every year the competition has grown into a bigger and brighter showcase of culinary talent, with 94 restaurants being nominated from around the country last year. A mystery diner will now eat at Tamasha at some point over the next couple of months, and will be asked to judge them in four categories: food; ambience; location; service and décor. The Grand Final is to be held in the House of Commons on Tuesday 27th October.
I am delighted that Tamasha will again be representing Bromley and Chislehurst in the Tiffin Cup, and will be hoping that they repeat their success of 2009 when they won the entire competition. It’s a prestigious event to be asked to take part in, and being a regular visitor myself, I know they will do the constituency proud!
Chair of the Tiffin Club, Keith Vaz MP, commented on the news:
‘After the overwhelming success of last year’s competition we are looking forward to another chance to sample some of the best offerings of Indian food in Britain. I wish Tamasha the best of luck in the competition!’
