Hundreds of Hayes residents came out in the rain to watch the Mayor of Bromley, Dr David Jefferies, switch on the Hayes Christmas lights on Station Approach on Saturday 23 November. The annual event is organised each year by a group of dedicated volunteers who form the Hayes Christmas Lights Committee.
Despite the wet weather, the event was good-spirited and well-attended with carols and other entertainment.
Councillor Josh Coldspring-White said: “Thank you to the incredible work done by the Hayes Christmas Lights Committee for another year. It is always heart-warming to see the community come together at this time of year to watch the lights, even in the pouring rain. The event wouldn’t happen without the efforts of these hard-working volunteers. As Councillors, we pay our thanks to them.”
