Jonathan is proud to represent Darwin Ward, one of only a handful of single-member wards in Greater London and geographically larger than the boroughs of Islington and Kensington and Chelsea combined, consisting almost entirely of green belt land. Jonathan has a close personal connection to Darwin – he lives 5 minutes from the Ward’s border at the end of Shire Lane, his grandparents live in the Ward where he was also christened and his parents were married there. Jonathan was born in Orpington and has lived here all his life.
A qualified and practicing solicitor, Jonathan has served on Bromley Council’s planning sub-committees since first being elected as a councillor in 2022 and is particularly passionate about protecting Bromley’s local green belt and conservation areas. As well as serving as a planning sub-committee chairman, his commitment to supporting education and wider opportunities for the borough’s young people (having himself attended, and benefitted from the education and opportunities provided by, Bromley's state schools as a child) has seen him serve as vice-chairman of the Children, Education and Families PDS Committee, and as a champion of disability inclusion he has also chaired Bromley’s All Age Autism Partnership Board.
